Predictive policing of cybercrime

On the 15th of June 2015, in Brussels, experts in cyber security and predictive policing from around Europe, representing all stakeholder groups (police, industry, policy making, civil society, technology and academia), expressed their concerns about the new societal challenges brought forward by the use of modern technologies and cyber-crime.

The experts participating at the debate tried to find together answers to three key questions of concern:

  • What is cyber-crime and how the use of modern technologies have added new challenges to tackling crime?
  • What is the societal dimension of cyber-crime?
  • What is the best balance between automated policing and human policing? Which are the areas most at risk and which are the admissible and the most effective preventive measures possible?

We invite to see the outcome of the debate in this short video!
